SOL DO CERRADO

The Sol do Cerrado project, in Jaíba - Minas Gerais, will become the largest solar park in Latin America with a capacity above 1,675 MWp, a true icon in the history of the electricity sector.

Scheduled to go into operation in 2022, Cluster I, Sol do Cerrado, has been fully acquired by VALE S / A (NYSE: VALE) and will help the company meet the goal of 100% self-production by 2025. The project will count, in its first phase, with an annual generation capacity of 1.7 GWh and implantation of 1,450,000 solar panels. There will be 5.5 million meters of cable, an investment of US $ 513 million and generation of 1,500 jobs in the implementation. A project capable of producing enough energy to supply all homes in Belo Horizonte.
